A study to develop a scale for measuring how well-enabled individuals are to benefit from digital health.

Dear participants,

Who am I?
My name is Lee Mercer. I am a 2nd year PhD candidate in the Department of Health at the University of Bath researching socioeconomic disparities in who benefits most from digital health.

What is digital health?
We define digital health as the use of digital technologies such as the internet, smartphones, wearables for the purpose of maintaining or improving health.

What are we doing?
As part of my PhD, I am developing a self-assessment tool to measure how well-placed individuals are to benefit from digital health.  As part of that research, I would like to invite you to take part in a Delphi exercise to help refine the questions in the measurement tool. The tool is designed to assess general digital health enablement, and may be adapted at a later date to focus on specific settings, populations, or technologies.

What is a Delphi exercise?

A Delphi exercise is a method for gathering expert opinions anonymously through two or more rounds of surveys to reach a consensus on a specific topic. You can find out more about Delphi studies here: https://www.bps.org.uk/psychologist/delphi-method.

You have been asked to take part because your expertise and insights are valuable in helping to reach a consensus on the important questions to ask individuals.
