What is the purpose of the project?
The evidence currently shows that the needs of caregivers from minority ethnic backgrounds are often less well supported by health services.
The goal of this research is to learn more about how caregiver wellbeing is affected by their cultural background.
Caregiver burden
is a term used to describe the stress on a person who is caring for someone who is aged, or unwell.
Cultural integration
refers to how individuals with multiple cultures relate to others and the country they live in. We hope this research will help us to see how caregiver burden and cultural integration are linked.
Possible benefits of taking part
The information that you and other participants provide in this project will help dementia services to develop a better understanding of how to provide support for caregivers from ethnic minority backgrounds.
